MHA of Northern Kentucky and Southwest Ohio is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team in the role of Education Coordinator. The ideal candidate will use their lived experience with mental health challenges and substance use recovery to provide support, encouragement, and guidance to individuals in similar circumstances. This role is essential in promoting hope, resilience, and empowerment within our community.
What you’ll do
Coordinate, implement and facilitate trainings
Serve as a role model for recovery
Provide one-on-one support to individuals
Collaborate with healthcare providers and community partners for connections to peer support services.
Accurately maintain data records and reporting requirements
Focus on quality improvement for trainings
Collaborate with team to develop marketing and awareness content
What you’ll need
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have lived experience as a person with mental health or substance use disorder
Peer Support Specialist Certification in Kentucky or willing to become certified within 60 days of employment
Two year's experience as a Peer Support Specialist/Peer Recovery Supporter - preferred but not required
Peer Support Specialist Certification in Ohio - preferred but not required
Expertise with technology (virtual training), problem solving, data entry and evaluation, detail oriented
Willingness to participate in continuous learning and training
